PROBLEMS THEY HAD:

A UK-based women’s supplement brand had implemented a quiz in their email capture process, but hadn’t used pop-ups. These are often avoided by brands due to concerns about disrupting the user experience. Our client didn’t optimise their pop-up correctly and lacked incentive. However, our tests have consistently shown pop-ups to be effective.

Our client couldn’t have been more thrilled with the results of our efforts. They were aware of the poor KPIs when they compared their benchmarks to some of their competitors in the supplement niche. Although they didn’t expect the reason to be partly due to an unmanaged list, they loved our meticulous email list cleaning and our focus on highly engaged subscribers, to remarkably repair their sender reputation and deliverability metrics. They learnt the importance of maintaining a robust email reputation by dedicating to ongoing monitoring and adaptation.

WHAT WE DID TO FIX IT:

We set up four pop-ups on their B2B store using OptinMonster. These offered discounts when visitors signed up for their email in the form of a quiz. We conducted split tests comparing standard pop-ups with a teaser pop-up. Surprisingly, the teaser pop-up captured almost twice as many emails. Its advantage lies in being attention-grabbing and less intrusive; even when closed it remains minimally visible, reappearing if the visitor shows interest.

Utilising the data from quiz responses, we categorised our subscribers into four distinct groups, focusing on their symptoms among other factors. This segmentation guided by the quiz outcomes, enabled us to craft emails that specifically recommended products aligned with each subscriber’s individual symptoms. Consequently, this tailored approach led to a substantial boost in their ROI.
